The 'El Camino' obsession

OK I want to hear why everyone loves El Camino? I too am guilty of this weird obsession and I am not even a St. John's native. Every time I have been there we are treated poorly. Who are these people? The Sopapilla Nazis? It is like they know they have something we crave and so they can get away with treating customers poorly, closing at strange hours, and not keeping the cleanest conditions. This time we arrived at 3:30 so the restaurant was basically empty and we were waiting to be seated (as the sign indicated). After five minutes of waiting (with 2 children mind you) a waitress told us someone would be with us soon and then she sat down right in front of us and started eating a zappy burger with fries! Ty then starts complaining that he is hungry and Jonthan is being a bear. We wait five more minutes and then we are seated. Our waitress was nice enough but why can they get away with bad service? It is because I had the best Mexican Pizza, and sopapillas that I can remember. Theron had his usual stuffed sopapilla and even Ty and Jonathan gobbled up their cheese sandwiches and burgers. This place is addicting! Right now I am craving a greasy, delicious Mexican pizza supreme with red sauce (grande) and yes I can eat the whole thing alone.
So what is it about this place? Theron claims it is the enchilada sauce. I say that it is the grease they use to fry everything in. Those of you who are 'El Camino' addicts-don't be ashamed and let me know what you think....

I remember this Spanish bull rug since I was a little girl(maybe around five). It is actually one of my earliest memories. I was staying with my Grandma Brown(Elda) and Uncle Art (her brother) came by to visit and he wanted to take us out to lunch so we went to the only restaurant in town "El Camino." I didn't like Mexican food when I was little so I picked at the chips and stared at this bull rug for about an hour. I couldn't understand why they would want to show a bloody bull fight in a restaurant?

Just getting the hang of walking

Ok sorry I posted the pictures in the wrong order! View them starting at the bottom-

I love these Pictures that Sara took of Jonathan walking. His little right foot turns way out (just like his daddy) and I think it is so cute. I would have never thought to take pictures of his little legs, but I love it. Thanks Sara!

Jonathan's First Birthday

We can't believe that this kid is one already! We had a fun Seasame Street party at Chuparosa park with a splash pad. He loved getting wet and screaming with the kids! I can't believe how he is a little boy toddling around, screaming and demanding. What happened to my sweet baby? He still is sweet he just knows what he wants now and how to get it. When Ty tries to take a toy away from him he will just hang on for dear life and not let go. He won't be pushed around and holds his own with his older brother.

Croquet Fun

We had a great time playing croquet and the weather was perfect. Jeff, Ryan, Bart. Davey, Ashley and Scott gave Theron a run for his money! He better practice before the next tournament because the champ has some good competition.

See Ya Later Giraffe Boots!

Those of you who know Ty knows he has an obsession with his giraffe boots. He wants to wear them everywhere and usually gets away with it. He wore them to his 3 year Dr. appt. last summer and everyone complimented him and made a big deal about them so he thought that he should wear them all the time. They have served their purpose and have come in handy like when we go camping or go play in grandma's sand box. But they have had it and are starting to look trashy and have big holes in them. We were pleasantly surprised when the time came to get new ones. He wanted blue ones and picked them out and trashed the giraffe boots with out a problem. He always grabs his blue boots when I tell him to put his shoes on. He wore them to swim lessons the other day and I thought it was kinda cute.
